Jiu Jitsu emphasizes respect, discipline, teamwork, and focus, all of which are invaluable life skills that can benefit children in many aspects of their lives. Physically, jiu jitsu provides an excellent form of exercise as it involves grappling from standing positions or on the ground. This helps with strength training and cardiovascular health. What are the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belts for kids?

The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu rank system for kids is slightly different from the adult rank system. Kids will typically begin their BJJ journey with a white belt and progress through grey, yellow, orange, and green belts before reaching the blue belt level. After that, they can then advance up to purple and brown belts before earning their black belt. For some children it could take several years to move through all of these ranks while others may be able to move faster depending on their commitment and dedication to the sport. Each student should look at their own goals, training regularly and putting in time on the mats in order to reach the highest levels of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

It’s important to note that many schools have additional ranks for kids that are between levels, such as white/grey, or yellow/orange. These ranks are meant to give children recognition and incentive while they progress on their jiu-jitsu journey.

In addition to the ranking system, many schools also have separate age divisions for tournaments. This allows students of different ages to compete against peers of similar size and strength rather than competing with adults in higher belts. It is important for young practitioners to take advantage of these age divisions so that they can practice what they learn in class and develop their skills in an environment that is tailored for them.

Overall, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu rank system for kids is designed to help them stay motivated and focused on their training as well as providing them with the recognition they deserve for their hard work and dedication to the sport. With patience and practice, any child can reach the highest levels of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
